Due to some restriction in the number of people that can congregate, in our Parish we will be limiting the number of attendees inside of the Church and Parish Hall to 400 people which is the 25 % of our capacity.

Tuesday, November 3rd, is Election Day (although many of us already will have voted through mail or at an early voting location). As Catholics, we see responsible citizenship as a virtue, and thus participation in the political process is not only a right but also a duty. And so, as Catholics and as American citizens, we should exercise the right and duty of our citizenship by voting.

Saint Robert Bellarmine (1542-1621), Jesuit, Bishop of Capua, Church doctor

Treatise on the Ascension of the Mind to God, Grade 1: Opera omnia 6 (Trad. Breviary 09/17 - 1862 edition, 214)

What is the great commandment?

What is it, Lord, that you command your servants? "Load up, you tell us, with my yoke." And how is this yoke of yours? "My yoke, you add, is bearable and my burden light." Who will not willingly wear a yoke that does not oppress, but encourages; a burden that does not weigh, but comforts? With good reason you add: "and you will find your rest" (Mt 11:29). And what is this yoke of yours, that does not tire but gives rest? Of course that commandment, the first and the greatest: "You shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart." What easier, more pleasant, sweeter than to love goodness, beauty and love, all of which are you, Lord my God? Do you not also promise a reward to those who keep your commandments "more precious than gold and sweeter than the honey of the comb"? (Ps. 18,11) By the way, yes, and a great prize, as your apostle Santiago says: "The Lord prepared the crown of life for those who love him" (1,12) ... And so says Saint Paul , inspired by the prophet Isaiah: "Neither the eye saw nor the ear heard, nor can man think what God has prepared for those who love him" (1Co 2,9) In truth, the prize he provides is very great keeping your commandments.

And not only that commandment, the first and the greatest, is beneficial for the man who fulfills it, not for God who imposes it, but also the other commandments of God, perfect the one who fulfills them, beautifies him, instructs him, they illustrate, they make it ultimately good and happy. By this, if you judge correctly, you will understand that you have been created for the glory of God and for your eternal salvation, you will understand that this is your end, that this is the goal of your soul, the treasure of your heart. If you reach this end, you will be happy, if you do not achieve it, you are unhappy.

Con raz贸n a帽ades: " y encontrar茅is vuestro descanso" (Mt 11,29).
